Editors Blog

Welcome

Introducing the Journal editor's blog

Well, here we go. The Journal launches into the blogosphere.

I hope in this section to keep up a fairly regular flow of comment and observation on legal-related events, not so much in the expectation that anything I say will be regarded as of great moment, but as importantly to give you, the visitor to our website, the opportunity to add your own comments.

Encouraging user participation will be an important feature of the site. Look out for the opportunity to comment on published articles as well as this and the Society's blog - and don't overlook the survey and competition sections. We will be as interested to see how use of the site develops as in the particular comments made!

Thank you for joining us and we look forward to hearing your views.

Have your say

I am trying to locate the name and contact details of the Solicitor who advised on the setting up of harassment laws and would be grateful if I could be given this. Many thanks.

What are the conditions you can expect when detained for several days, how much sleep should you have, do all prisoners have the white lights left on 24/7????

A vendor wishes to sell to the same buyer (me), a parcel of land held on one title and a house/land held on an entirely seperate title. The two properties for sale are next to each other separated by a fence.

For SDLT purposes, would this transaction be deemed as a 'linked' transaction?

If linked, the extra cost would be £7,500 in tax.

Please reply to georgespencer.uk@gmail.com

Thank you in anticipation
