The Amarula Oasis heats up Edinburgh this Summer
Amarula Cream, the African liqueur, is bringing a slice of its homeland to Edinburgh this summer. The indulgent cream liqueur is creating an exclusive African Oasis in the Scottish capital, a sanctuary in which to escape the hustle and bustle of summer in the Scottish city. The Amarula Oasis draws upon the brand’s heritage from South Africa, capturing the beauty and mystery of the continent.
Relax with a refreshing Amarula Cream cocktail whilst enjoying daily performances from African storytellers, live poetry readings, musicians and Afro beat DJ. From your first step inside you will touch, see, hear, smell and taste Africa; sounds of African wildlife will greet you. Enjoy the laid-back way of life in the bespoke Kata tent; enjoy a taste of African culture with performances from African guests and of course indulge in some delicious Amarula Cream cocktails.
Guests at the Amarula Oasis will have the opportunity to take the spirit of Africa home with their own African portrait. Dressed up in safari style you can be photographed by a professional photographer and take home a memento from your African experience to share with your friends.
Each night the Amarula Oasis will showcase a special African themed performance for guests to enjoy including:
DJ Koichi Sakai: Renowned for his own night Ghetto Lounge at Cafe1001 and Troy Bar, Koichi has had incredible live sessions with artists such as Robert Mitchell, Zena Edwards, Mpho Skeef, Lo-Tek HiFi, Lyric L, Belleruche and more. His music is jazzy and percussive and he’ll be playing a unique and smooth mix of Afrobeat.
Abantu Arts: will be hosting a selection of activities within the Oasis to bring the excitement of the African continent to life. This will include story-telling, live poetry readings, music and African craft workshops. ABANTU Arts is a cultural organisation dedicated to the preservation, education and appreciation of African music, dance, theatre and culture.
The exclusive Amarula Cream cocktails that will be served at the safari bar have been developed by Ben Reed, one of London's best-known mixologists. The delicious and indulgent African Bramble and Amarula Cream Kiwi cocktails are the ideal drinks to sip on a Scottish summer’s evening.
Amarula Cream is a versatile liqueur that can be enjoyed over ice, in coffee or in a number of delicious cocktails and is available in supermarkets and off licences. Experience the spirit of Africa with Amarula Cream (RRP £11.99 – 70cl) that combines the distinctive flavour of Africa with a subtle and creamy taste that offers drinkers pure indulgence.
