Disqualified directors - DTI crackdown

1 January 04

Department of Trade and Industry has set up a hotline as part of a crackdown on persons flouting director disqualification orders

The Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) has asked the Society to publicise its “Disqualified Directors Hotline” which was set up last year. The hotline was launched by the then Consumer and Competition Minister, Melanie Johnson, with the aim of encouraging any person who believes they may have information about directors and undischarged bankrupts who may be deliberately flouting disqualification orders, to call the DTI 24 hour hotline whose number is 0845 601 3546.

The Insolvency Service has also produced a new guidance leaflet entitled “Disqualified Directors Hotline” which can be accessed through the website www.insolvency.gov.uk
