Agents breaking prison rules

Some agents have been attempting to enter Kilmarnock Prison on client visits with unauthorised items

The Society has been advised by the deputy security manager at Kilmarnock Prison that some agents have been attempting to enter the prison with items not relevant to their visit.

It is emphasised that in accordance with national prison rules and security standards, agents will only be permitted to enter with documents or materials relevant to the case with which they are concerned. No personal items, mobile phones, newspapers, books or items intended to be passed to prisoners will be permitted.

Although no major breaches of security have occurred, the co-operation of the profession is requested in complying with the rules.
