Collected news of new appointments and practice changes

ABERDEIN CONSIDINE, Aberdeen and elsewhere, announce that David Burnside has joined the firm as a consultant. He is one of two former BURNESS PAULL employment lawyers joining the firm: former colleague Jennifer Gardner has also joined Aberdein Considine following a one-year career break.

The partners of AITKEN NAIRN, Edinburgh, wish to intimate that Andrew William Stevenson WS has retired from the firm with effect from 31 March 2017. The remaining partners wish him a long and happy retirement.

ANDERSON STRATHERN, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Haddington, announce that transpost and infrastructure legal specialist Neil Amner, current President of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, has joined the firm as a director. Until August 2016 he was a partner at MACROBERTS.

ARCHIBALD SHARP, Glasgow, are delighted to announce that Lynsey Ross Clelland has been appointed a director of the company with effect from 1 April 2017.

BALFOUR+MANSON, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, is adding to its Private Client department with the appointment of Karen Phillips as a partner. She joins the firm from BRODIES in June.

BLACKADDERS, Dundee and elsewhere, has appointed Susan McFadyen as a partner in its Corporate & Commercial team.

BTO SOLICITORS, Glasgow and Edinburgh, has announced the promotion to associate of four senior solicitors: Eileen Sherry (insurers’ representation), Jennifer King (professional discipline and clinical defence), David Cairns and Andrew Phillips (both health and safety, regulatory and criminal).

CMS LLP, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and elsewhere, announce the promotion of three Scottish based solicitors, among 48 partner promotions worldwide: Amy Norton (real estate) and Duncan Turner (technology, media and telecommunications) in Edinburgh, and Kirsten Partridge (real estate) in the Glasgow office, with effect from 1 May 2017.

CMS has also completed its three way merger with law firms NABARRO and OLSWANG.

DAC BEACHCROFT SCOTLAND, Glasgow and Edinburgh, are pleased to announce that Alasdair Irivine has joined the firm as a solicitor in the Regulatory team.
