Collected news of new appointments and practice changes

Almira Delibegovic-Broome QC has been appointed a Visiting Scholar at HARVARD LAW SCHOOL, USA over the next year. She will return to the Scottish bar in the summer
of 2019.

Jacqueline Fordyce, advocate has been appointed to a six-month post as a Visiting Professional in the Chambers of the INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT in The Hague, Netherlands. 

LINDA GEORGE FAMILY LAW LTD, Hamilton and Lanark, is delighted to announce the promotion of Emma Sadler, solicitor in Hamilton, and Lisa Gillespie, solicitor in the Lanark office, to associate with immediate effect.

HARPER MACLEOD, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Lerwick, has appointed Kenneth Campbell as a senior associate in commercial litigation in its Inverness office. He was previously with DWF in Edinburgh.

RAEBURN CHRISTIE CLARK & WALLACE, Aberdeen, Ellon, Banchory, Inverurie and Stonehaven, has appointed new solicitor Dan McFarlane to its Commercial Property department.

SCULLION LAW LTD, Hamilton and Glasgow, has appointed Judith Higson as an associate director in its Family Law team. An accredited family law specialist, accredited child law specialist, accredited family law mediator and a collaborative lawyer, she was previously with KERR STIRLING, Stirling.

THORNTONS, Dundee and elsewhere, has announced a total of 10 promotions. Lynne MacIntyre (residential conveyancing, Forfar) and Stuart Mackie (private client, Montrose) are promoted from senior solicitor to associate. There are also eight new senior solicitors: in Dundee, Steven Drake (residential conveyancing), and Joanne Clancy and Lynsay McFarlane (both personal injury); in Edinburgh, Thomas Redpath (personal injury), Neil Falconer (intellectual property) and Megan Sweeney (private client); in St Andrews, Chris Gardiner (private client), and in Perth, Anneli Spence (land and rural business).

TURCAN CONNELL, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London, has moved its Glasgow office from 149 St Vincent Street to 180 St Vincent Street, Glasgow G2 5SG.

WEIGHTMANS, Glasgow and elsewhere, has appointed three new partners to its Glasgow office: Claire Thornber, a solicitor advocate in the civil courts, who joins from PINSENT MASONS, where she was a senior associate; Nicola Gonnella, formerly legal manager at HUTCHISON 3G UK; and corporate lawyer Claire McCracken, who joins from LINDSAYS.
