Conference and CPD latest from the Scottish Paralegal Association
Our conference in Dundee on 19 September looks set to be well attended. We would not be able to hold such great events if it was not for all our sponsors, speakers and exhibitors, who never let us down. Dundee is an amazing city to attend, as it is in the midst of a £1 billion redevelopment of its waterfront, and the recent opening of the V&A museum makes it a vibrant place to be.
Our next conference will be the 2020 annual conference, in Glasgow on 23 April. Please save the date!
We are continuing our free CPD events, but would love to hear what areas of law you are interested in. These events are held with you in mind, and if there is anything you feel should be covered or want to research, please let us know by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
Although these events are primarily held in Glasgow and Edinburgh, we would be happy to visit other areas provided there was enough interest.
Did you know that you are required to complete 10 hours’ CPD every year? By attending our conferences and free CPD events, you will fulfil this requirement.
Please visit our website www.scottish-paralegal.org.uk, where you can find out more about what we do, how to qualify as a paralegal, and current vacancies. We are developing a partners’ page which we hope will have links to blogs, legal updates and more from our partners.
As the Association grows, so too does our social media presence – look for us on LinkedIn and Facebook. SPA has been around for over 25 years and we continue to represent the interests of paralegals throughout Scotland. The committee continually strives to raise the profile of paralegals who do a fantastic job, and a lot of our work is behind the scenes. If there is any matter you think we can help with, please let us know – we are there for all of our members.
Jenny Livingstone is employed by DMD Law, Edinburgh and is a committee member of the Scottish Paralegal Association, recognised by the Law Society of Scotland as representing the interest and promoting the development of paralegals in Scotland.
