CAs survey supports legal reform
Scottish corporate legal firms and their clients favour fewer restrictions on their ability to join with other professionals in practice, according to CA Magazine's latest survey.
The survey, covering the magazine's readership based in Scotland and leading Scottish law firms, disclosed that 75% of clients would willingly see solicitors form partnerships with advocates or barristers, and 71% would support practices combining with accountants or other professions.
Just under 50% support outsiders taking a stake in legal firms, and 58% oppose commercial organisations selling legal services direct to the public. However 80% of the firms surveyed favour being able to raise external capital.
