Ayrshire fiscal appointment

Mr John Dunn has been appointed by the Lord Advocate, Colin Boyd QC to the post of Area Procurator Fiscal for Ayrshire.

Mr Dunn, previously Head of the High Court Unit at Crown Office, replaces Mrs Janet Cameron who left the post in January to take up the position of Area Procurator Fiscal for Lanarkshire.

The Lord Advocate, Mr Boyd said: "I am pleased to announce the appointment of John Dunn as Area Procurator Fiscal for Ayrshire. As an experienced prosecutor John will bring a wealth of experience to this role. He is a well-respected member of the department who will work with local criminal justice partners to improve the service that the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service delivers to local communities."

Mr Dunn commented: "I am looking forward to the challenges of my new post. It's an exciting time for the service as we are increasingly engaged with criminal justice partners and the local communities to ensure that we provide a seamless, efficient service to those communities. We are also getting the most from our resources by the thoughtful application of IT to the way in which we do our work."
