Jandoo suspended from Bar

Raj Jandoo has been suspended by the leader of the Scottish Bar pending the outcome of an investigation into his behaviour on an Edinburgh to Stornoway flight in March 2004.

Dr Jandoo faces a fine of up to £15,000 and suspension or even expulsion from the Faculty of Advocates if the case is upheld.

He was found guilty in March of alarming and frightening passengers on the plane with comments like "I hope we have no problems with bombs today, eh?"

The Edinburgh-based lawyer was fined £2,500 at the time and told by the sheriff that his comments were likely to have "long lasting consequences on his legal career".
