New appointments for Aberdeen firm
The Aberdeen-based law firm, Paull & Williamsons, has appointed two new associates, further strengthening the commercial property and corporate departments.
John Strachan, who specialises in commercial property and primarily deals with secure funding transactions, leasing and construction, has been with Paull & Williamsons for almost six years, including his initial two years of training.
Throughout his time with the firm, Mr Strachan has gained a thorough knowledge of the commercial property department, particularly with land acquisitions for residential and commercial property developers. He said: “I have had a wide range of experience since joining Paull & Williamsons and I am pleased to see my career progressing with such a prominent firm in Scotland.”
Alasdair Smith has been a member of the corporate department for just under a year, having joined the firm in May 2004 with eight years experience.
As an associate, Mr Smith deals with all aspects of corporate law including mergers and acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures, advising clients on new business legislation and external funding policy from venture capitalists.
Also heavily involved in banking law, he assists the firm’s banking clients with their legal documentation. He said: “I have enjoyed my first year with Paull & Williamsons and I look forward to the challenges ahead in my new position.”
Senior partner, Bruce Smith, said: "Our commercial property and corporate departments are experiencing increases in activity and these appointments will further enhance the service we offer our clients."
