Aberdeen police to film as they go
Police in Aberdeen are to try out "headcam" equipment, which allows them to video incidents they attend while leaving their hands free.
Already in use in England and Wales, this is the first Scottish trial for the device, which consists of a camera fitted on a headband linked to recording equipment worn on a belt. The film can be played back to individuals detained or arrested, or used to trace offenders.
Aberdeen City Council and the procurator fiscal's office are supporting the project, which is being used to back up a campaign over the festive season not to let drink spoil a good night out.
