Two new partners for MacRoberts

MacRoberts has appointed two of its senior associates as partners, maintaining the growth of its employment practice in both its Glasgow and Edinburgh offices. The appointments take effect on 1 May.

Karen McGill, based in Edinburgh, is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in employment law. She deals with both contentious and non-contentious law and has significant experience of handling high-profile discrimination cases.

Katy Wedderburn, based in Glasgow, regularly advises on business reorganisations and collective redundancies and guides clients through collective bargaining including industrial disputes.

Both are also involved in delivering MacRoberts’ employment law and management training to clients including major private and public sector organisations across the UK.

MacRoberts’ managing partner Michael Murphy said: “I am pleased to see Karen and Katy step up to partner roles. This represents an important step in the further development of the Employment Law Group in both centres."

The firm also announced that senior partner Raymond Williamson retires on 30 April. He will be retained as a consultant.
