Two promotions for Murray Donald Drummond Cook

Fife law firm Murray Donald Drummond Cook has appointed two new associates at its St Andrews office.

Alistair Lang, 33, dealing with commercial work, and Shirley Phillips, 32, who specialises in conveyancing, have both been promoted. Their appointments took effect from 1 April.

Joining Murray Donald Drummond Cook from an Edinburgh practice two years ago, Alistair Lang advises on all aspects of company law and also acts for clients in commercial property transactions and on intellectual property issues.

Shirley Phillips was an associate with a Dundee law firm before joining Murray Donald Drummond Cook in 2004 and as well as conveyancing, she deals with private client matters, including wills and executries.

Murray Donald Drummond Cook was formed in 2005 with the merger of Murray Donald & Caithness and Drummond Cook & Mackintosh. The firm has nine partners and offices in St Andrews, Cupar, Anstruther and Leuchars.

Senior partner James Murray said: "Since the merger last year we have continued to build on the strength and range of our legal services and Alistair and Shirley form an important part of that strategy.”
