Bumper year for Dundas & Wilson projects team

Dundas & Wilson’s projects team is trumpeting the completion of a record 22 deals in the year to July 2006.

The first quarter of financial year 2006-07 saw the projects teams in London, Edinburgh and Glasgow close six major deals in six weeks with a combined value of well over £1.2 billion.

These were, Argyll & Bute Phase 2 (education – Scotland), Project Alpha (water – Northern Ireland), South Lanarkshire (education – Scotland), Scottish Water (water – Scotland), Northlink Ferries (transport – Scotland) and Bristol Schools (education – England). Project Alpha and Bristol Schools were also UK firsts.

Deals completed comprise nine English deals, 10 Scottish deals, two UK wide, and one in Northern Ireland.

Michael McAuley heads up the projects team at Dundas & Wilson.

He said: “Our activity reflects the strength and depth of our projects practice across the UK, with the majority of the 22 deals completed in the last year being pathfinder or emerging sector projects.

“The geographic split also mirrors the greatly increased capacity in our London office, which now employs 54 fee-earners. Prospects for the next year look equally encouraging as the flow of public sector deals shows no signs of slowing.”

Dundas & Wilson was recently named in the top 10 global PPP dealmakers by Infrastructure Journal Online.
