Funds were used to boost Iain Catto's lavish lifestyle
An Edinburgh solicitor has admitted stealing £70,000 from a disabled client.
Iain Catto, 41, used the money to pay for travel, dining out and hotel rooms. He had volunteered to pay the bills and organise the affairs of Francis Fleming after he became partially paralysed.
Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday heard that Catto withdrew money from Mr Fleming's accounts and sold shares to pay for his lifestyle after giving up his job. He was exposed after Mr Fleming's son Frank became suspicious about his father's funds.
Sentence on Catto was deferred for background reports.
