"Journal" company wins CA Magazine

A strong performance by the Journal of the Law Society of Scotland has resulted in its editorial and design company winning CA Magazine and sister titles to add to its stable.

Paisley-based Connect Communications, who commission and produce the Journal for the Society, has reached an agreement with The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland (ICAS) that will result in a number of magazines currently on the ICAS list moving to Paisley. Employment rights of affected ICAS staff are being protected under the Transfer of Undertakings (TUPE) Regulations.

The deal will increase Connect's staff and turnover by about 50%, possibly making it the biggest contract publisher outside London.

Managing director David Cameron said the win would take Connect's business on to a new level. "Bringing together the Law Society of Scotland's Journal and CA Magazine on a single commercial platform will benefit both magazines and is really important."
