£15m turnover for Semple Fraser

Semple Fraser's financial results for 2006-07 have revealed an annual turnover of £15 million, up 15% from the previous year.

The profit increase for the firm, a recognised multinational practice, is 17%, thanks to a number of high-value UK transactions in the last 12 months in sectors such as commerical property, construction and engineering and banking and finance.

The past year has seen staff figures grow by 12% and the establishment of two new commercial property teams. With English business now accounting for well over 20% of the firm’s income, one of the new teams is dedicated to serving the firm’s English clients and further expanding capability in that area.

Managing partner Alister Fraser said: “We don’t claim to be experts in every area of law, but in the areas in which we specialise and for the chosen markets that we focus on, we believe that we excel.

"Our talented lawyers have a thorough understanding of these industries and the pressures they face and this formula serves us well. I am confident that next year the firm will grow further concentrating on these markets and capitalising on growth opportunities across the UK.
