Derek Ogg appointed as senior advocate depute
Derek Ogg QC has been appointed as a senior advocate depute within the Crown Office.
Mr Ogg was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1989, having previously been a solicitor in private practice for a number of years. He took silk in 1999. His appointment covers the planned departure of Sean Murphy QC.
The Lord Advocate Elish Angiolini QC said: "I am delighted that Derek has accepted my invitation to serve as a senior advocate depute. He has a wealth of experience and skills, which will only strengthen the already considerable talent that is evident in Crown Counsel.
"I have no doubt that he will be a valuable asset and ensure that we maintain a strong Crown Counsel team to take forward the prosecution of the most serious crime in Scotland."
