Powers of attorney law changing

13 September 2007

The Office of the Public Guardian has drawn attention to amendments to the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 which come into force on 5 October 2007.

The 2007 Act mostly makes ancillary changes to parts of the 2000 Act. However they will impact on powers of attorney and pre-2000 Act guardians who have not renewed their appointment under the terms of the 2000 Act.

A summary of the provisions coming into force can be found on the websites of the Office of the Public Guardian and The Scottish Government .

The commencement order is SSI 2007/334.
