Promotion for three at Shepherd and Wedderburn

Shepherd and Wedderburn has promoted three of its people to partners in its Edinburgh and London offices, effective 1 May.

The insolvency and restructuring team has seen Fiona Paterson elevated to partner. Meanwhile, Philip Knowles has become a partner in the firm's corporate finance team, and Gordon Hay receives recognition for his work in the oil and gas sector by becoming a partner in the banking and finance team.

Ms Paterson, who is dual qualified, is based in Edinburgh, as is Mr Hay. Mr Knowles is based in London where he specialises in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and debt and equity finance.

Patrick Andrews, chief executive of Shepherd and Wedderburn, said: "Fiona, Philip and Gordon have already made a major contribution to the success of their specialist areas. Their promotions are well deserved and in line with our strategy to develop these practice areas further.”

The promotions bring the firm-wide total number of partners to 72.
