Burness take on City finance lawyer
Commercial law firm Burness has appointed as partner Lorna Finlayson from the London office of international firm Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP.
A specialist in financial services regulatory law, Ms Finlayson will start with Burness in July. She was previously head of legal with Direct Line’s financial services division.
Philip Rodney, chairman at Burness, said: "The financial services sector powers Scotland. The addition of a top flight partner with City firm experience focused specifically on regulatory issues further strengthens the firm’s ability to provide a comprehensive service to our clients in this specialised sector and defines ourselves in the market.
"Lorna’s appointment, on the back of Mark Ellis joining us from Travers Smith, demonstrates our ability to attract top legal talent from the City of London to the firm."
