Merger for Morton Fraser
The law firm Morton Fraser is to merge with the Edinburgh-based business Skene Edwards.
The merger should be completed by the autumn and will see the transferral of 25 staff to Morton Fraser. This includes three partners and two consultants. Skene Edwards' turnover to April 2008 was £1.7 million.
Linda Urquhart, Morton Fraser's chief executive, said Skene Edwards had a significant number of commercial and private clients, and that Morton Fraser was committed to growing its business through strategic mergers.
The amalgamation will bring the number of parters at Morton Fraser to 35.
