Scottish charities invited to apply for next two years
Scottish charities have been invited to bid for a share of money HM Revenue & Customs is to award to those helping people in financial difficulty.
HMRC has a total of £2.33 million to award to charities, community groups, voluntary bodies, co-operatives and social enterprises in the tax years 2009-10 and 2010-11. The funding is intended to help organisations reach the most financially vulnerable people, to help them manage debts, and provide information about benefits and taxation.
Organisations to have benefited in the past include One Parent Families Scotland, the Council of Ethnic Minority Voluntary Sector Organisations in Scotland, and local citizens advice bureaux.
The deadline for applications is 12 November. Successful applicants will be informed by 19 January.
