Prosecutor appointment in Linlithgow

Adrian Cottam has been appointed as the district procurator fiscal for Linlithgow.

Mr Cottam, who was previously an advocate depute prosecuting in the High Court, graduated from the University of Dundee in 1993. He trained with Badenoch and Strathspey District Court and Highland Council, and joined the Procurator Fiscal Service as a depute in Inverness in 1996.

The procurator fiscal at Linlithgow will relocate to the new Civic Government collocation centre at Livingston next summer. This multi-agency project will locate police, the Scottish Court Service and the procurator fiscal in the same location to improve the efficiency of the criminal justice services.

Announcing the appointment, Lord Advocate Elish Angiolini said: "Adrian Cottam's experience in the criminal justice system is very impressive in its breadth and variety.”
