Turcan Connell cyclists raise £154,100 for charity

Turcan Connell, the Edinburgh-based law and asset management firm, has raised £154,100 for Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Big Build Appeal.

Lawyers from the firm took part in the charity’s "Bike the Baltic" challenge, a 2,250km cycle across Eastern Europe.

The 25 cyclists, who split into four teams to cover the full distance between them, set out in August, beginning in Warsaw then travelling through Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, crossing the finishing line in St Petersburg on 12 September.

Having originally set themselves a fundraising target of £100,000, additional fundraising events and donations made since their return took the total past the £150,000 mark.

Gemma McDonald, capital appeal fundraiser for the Big Build Appeal, said: “Turcan Connell’s fundraising efforts have been amazing and we are all very grateful for their commitment to raising vital funds for the Big Build Appeal.”

The money will go towards building a new Marie Curie hospice in Glasgow.
