Three new appointments for Balfour + Manson

15 January 2009

An associate and two solicitors have joined Balfour + Manson’s Edinburgh office.

Associate Alastair Milne and solicitor Alison Mathieson both join the family law team, while solicitor Lorna Gibb boosts the firm in employment law.

Mr Milne was previously a partner at Erskine McAskill. Since 1992 he has specialised in child and family law. H has recently undertaken work for the Law Society of Scotland as a peer reviewer of civil legal aid practitioners.

Ms Mathieson worked in private practice in both Glasgow and Dundee before moving to Edinburgh in 1998. After taking time out to have a family, she returned to practice in 2006 specialising in child and family law.

The third new appointment, Lorna Gibb, is experienced in respondent work, particularly in pension and employee benefits, where she has worked for a number of top 10 companies. She will be conducting a number of seminars and workshops on disciplinary agreements, procedures and discrimination issues in 2009 for Balfour + Manson’s employment clients.

Balfour + Manson LLP, which has offices in Edinburgh and Aberdeen, currently has 18 partners and more than 120 staff.
