Journal attracts double award nomination

23 January 2009

The Journal, the Law Society of Scotland's monthly members' magazine, is in the running for two prizes in the annual CiB (Communicators in Business) Scotland awards.

The magazine itself is one of five shortlisted as Best Member Publication - rivals include the magazines of Historic Scotland and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh - and editor Peter Nicholson is one of four potential winners of the title Journalist/Editor of the Year, along with his colleague at Connect Communications and counterpart at CA Magazine, Rob Outram.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Prestonfield House, Edinburgh, on 27 February.

CiB Scotland chairman Roy Carter said: “Not only did we receive a record number of entries this year, but the quality has been absolutely superb. The category judges had a really tough job, but have somehow managed to whittle it down to a shortlist.”

Peter Nicholson commented: "The Journal has regularly been listed for awards in recent years, and has won on occasion, all of which is a testament to its consistent quality, but to receive a double nomination from CiB Scotland came as a great boost."
