Firm expands specialist liquor licensing offering

Janet Hood, a liquor licensing specialist and head of BII (British Institute of Innkeeping) in Scotland, has been appointed a part-time consultant to Aberdeen law firm James & George Collie.

Ms Hood, who is also chairman of the In-house Lawyers Group of the Law Society of Scotland, will work with Collies' senior partner Tony Dawson in offering licensing expertise to other legal firms who do not specialise in the subject.

She commented: "I already offer a free licensing law helpline to members of the BII in Scotland who will now be able to go to J & G Collie for more formal legal advice."

Mr Dawson said Ms Hood's appointment was a "major coup" for the firm.
