McGrigors' partner appointed fraud examiner

Tom Stocker, a partner at McGrigors LLP, has been appointed Scots law legal officer for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

The ACFE is the world's largest anti-fraud organisation and the leading provider of anti-fraud training and education.

Mr Stocker, a dual qualified, Edinburgh-based partner in McGrigors' litigation and dispute resolution team and a member of the business crime and commercial fraud unit, is a specialist in business crime, regulatory investigations and compliance. He will advise the ACFE on Scots law and significant legal developments to help reduce the incidence of fraud and white-collar crime and to assist members in fraud detection and deterrence.

Alex McLaren, Vice President of the ACFE, commented: "With the UK Government now recognising that fraud in fiscal terms is costing the economy in excess of £30 billion per year, the skills and attributes of
professionals like Tom Stocker have never been more needed."
