Budding lawyers find out what it's like

The Law Society of Scotland hosted a careers event this week for Scottish school pupils who are interested in studying law and entering the legal profession.

About 65 pupils were joined by LLB students, Diploma students, trainees and solicitors from a variety of backgrounds who answered their questions about studying law or working in the legal profession.

The session was part of a series of events under the Society’s New Lawyers’ Engagement Strategy, which aims to deliver information and support for those coming into the legal profession.

Heather McPhee, Development Officer, Education and Training, said: ”This was a fantastic opportunity for school pupils to meet law students and members of the profession and find out more about the realities of a career in law.

“The Society’s aim is to ensure pupils have comprehensive information before they make decisions about their future career choices and these events are a great way to achieve this.”
