Lyon Court fiscal appointed
Aberdeen solicitor Alexander Green has been appointed the new procurator fiscal to the Court of the Lord Lyon, the body that rules on the right to display coats of arms in Scotland.
Mr Green is director of The Law Agency, a legal practice that operates in a virtual environment, and his appointment suggests that changes could be afoot at the ancient court, whose origins date back to the 14th century.
Mr Green told the Journal that much of his work would be done from Aberdeen, "thanks to cyber-space".
He hopes to be sworn in to his new role on 3 August.
