ESPC hosts first-time buyers' event

14 October 2010

First-time housebuyers will have advice on hand at an event this Saturday, 16 October, at the Edinburgh Solicitors Property Centre showroom.

From 11am to 3pm, a number of ESPC solicitor estate agents will be available to answer any questions on the property market and the legal process of buying a property, while money advisers offer mortgage and financial advice. The event will also be supported by new build developers, promoting developments in and around Edinburgh which suit the budgets of first-time buyers.

Neil Harrison, ESPCs marketing manager, commented: "For those first time buyers who have a deposit, the market has moved in their favour, with lower prices and more choice. The average price of a one-bedroom flat in many areas has come down from the peak of the market: for example on Leith Walk and Easter Road the average price of a one-bed flat is now £107,384, down from a peak of £130,921. In Gorgie and Dalry the average price of a one-bed flat has come down from a peak of £127,213 in 2008 to £105,923 today."
