Parliament approves Scottish cabinet members
The Scottish Parliament has formally agreed the appointments of the new Scottish ministerial team ahead of the cabinet's first official meeting at Bute House in Edinburgh today.
Motions seeking parliamentary agreement for the appointments of new cabinet secretaries and ministers were passed in the chamber this morning.
Only those new to a position of cabinet secretary or minister were subject to the vote.
The Parliament also agreed the appointment of Frank Mulholland as Lord Advocate, as he steps up from the position of Solicitor General to succeed Elish Angiolini, and Lesley Thomson as the new Solicitor General.
