Brodies hires IP specialist pair
Brodies LLP has announced the hire of two accredited specialists in intellectual property law, as Gill Grassie and Robert Buchan join as partners from Maclay Murray & Spens.
Mr Buchan starts at Brodies this week, and Ms Grassie in the summer.
Gill Grassie has specialised in IP and IT dispute resolution and litigation for some 20 years and has advised on patent and trade mark/parallel imports litigation, anti-piracy, trade secret protection and IT contract disputes. Recently, she was appointed as an expert on the Nominet dispute resolution panel.
Robert Buchan has over 12 years' experience of IP and IT dispute work, using both litigation and mediation. He has acted in passing off, trade mark and parallel import claims and domain name disputes as well as patent infringement and patent entitlement disputes.
The pair will add to Brodies' business disputes and asset recovery specialists, as well as the technology unit as both lawyers have acted in oil and gas sector technology IPR disputes. Brodies has clients active in the latest round of UKCS exploration and development.
