Harper Macleod appoint associates

16 July 2012

Commercial law firm Harper Macleod LLP has made two associate appointments to its energy and natural resources team.

Crofting lawyer Nick Kemp has over seven years' experience in working with landowners from individual crofters and small estates, to entire island communities, and will be assisting such clients in taking advantage of the opportunities arising from renewable energy.

Omar Ali, also with over seven years' experience working in the energy sector, joins from Shepherd and Wedderburn, and has spent time on secondment with a large renewables developer. He will work on a range of renewables projects from development through to construction and operation.

Headed by David Bone, the team now has 12 full time energy lawyers, supported by nine additional partners working in related specialist areas.

Mr Bone said: “The renewable energy industry continues to buck the economic gloom and doom and our team has grown to meet the needs of our new and existing clients."
