Compass Chambers announces Diploma essay competition

Compass Chambers at th Faculty of Advocates has announced its second annual essay competition for students on the Diploma in Legal Practice.

This year's topic is: "Automatons, sleepwalkers and others – when should the criminal law treat a driver as not driving his car?"

The judges are looking for a considered and analytical response, in not more than 2,000 words and presented in double-spaced typescript. The closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday 2 November 2012.

The winning entry will receive a cash prize of £1,000, to be presented by the keynote speaker at the Compass Chambers annual conference on Friday 30 November at the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh.
