Three new members for SLAB

A former member of the Law Society of Scotland's Criminal Legal Aid Negotiating Team is among three new appointments to the Scottish Legal Aid Board.
Wishaw solicitor Vincent McGovern, a criminal defence lawyer, becomes a board member along with Ros Micklem, former principal of Cardonald College, Glasgow, and Scotland Director of the Equality & Human Rights Commission; and Rani Dhir, a senior housing professional with experience as a non-executive director in the public, private and voluntary sectors.
The appointments, announced today by Cabinet Secretary for Justice Kenny MacAskill, are for four years and will run from 1 November 2012 to 31 October 2016. They attract a remuneration of £8,909 per annum for a time commitment of three and a half days per month.
