Judicial factor appointed to Kirkintilloch law firm

A judicial factor was appointed today to Kirkintilloch law firm Alder Hogg & Co.
The appointment, by the Court of Session, followed a petition by the Law Society of Scotland in order to protect clients' interests after the Society raised concerns about the firm's accounting records. The judicial factor acts independently of the Society.
The two solicitor partners of the firm have had their practising certificates suspended until further notice. The judicial factor will continue to run the business and handle any queries from clients.
