9 October 2012
Commercial legal firm McClure Naismith LLP, has announced the creation of an executive chairman position, along with a six-strong management board to lead the firm.
Robin Shannan, a senior commercial and financial services partner, will be the first to fill the executive chairman role. His management board will consist of six senior partners – Alan Thomson, Morag Campbell, Philip Sim, David Thomson, Ewen Brown and Steven Brown.
The firm, which has offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London, has also reorganised its practice areas, leading with dispute resolution, real estate, and commercial and financial services, supported by the projects and consumer finance teams, and all drawing on expertise in areas such as intellectual property, employment, and construction and engineering.
Mr Shannan commented: “It has been a tough few years for the legal profession; however we are in good shape having cut costs, held our income and with a focused strategy to develop and move the business into new income streams."
McClure Naismith's strategy, he said, was to make sure it delivered legal services as part of a business proposition that fitted with the client’s business aims and needs and was seen as adding value.
He concluded: “The last two years have seen rapid change within the legal profession in Scotland and there is more change on the way. McClure Naismith is ready for these changes and I am pleased to say that our current workload is strong."
