23 October 2012
Glasgow solicitors Mitchells Roberton, who claim to be one of the oldest legal firms in Scotland, have announced that they have acquired the practice of another city firm, Grant Brown Lindsay.
Hugh Grant, who set up Grant & Co which later became Grant Brown Lindsay, has joined Mitchells Roberton as a consultant, bringing his wide experience in civil court work and tribunal representation.
He is joined by solicitor Marie Bradbury, who practises in residential conveyancing and wills, trusts and executries, paralegal Phyllis Fox and two support staff.
Donald Reid, chairman of Mitchells Roberton, said: “This is great news. Grant Brown Lindsay is a well regarded firm with an excellent reputation. We are already enjoying working with Hugh and his team. Hugh’s long experience in dispute related practice will add substantially to our strength in this field.”
Hugh Grant added “We are delighted to be joining such a long established and highly regarded firm as Mitchells Roberton. It is an exciting time. We have all been made most welcome here and are keen to contribute to the new larger firm.”
