Advocate member appointment to SLAB

Derek Ogg QC is the new advocate member on the Scottish Legal Aid Board, Cabinet Secretary for Justice Kenny MacAskill has announced.

Mr Ogg has practised as a solicitor, an advocate, a prosecutor, and since 2000 as a Queen's counsel. He is a former chairman of the Faculty of Advocates Criminal Bar Association.

The appointment, for four years until 2016, is part-time and attracts a remuneration of £212 per day for a time commitment of three and a half days per month.
