Digby Brown charity dinner dance raises £71,000
This year's Winter Dinner Dance, organised and sponsored by Digby Brown Solicitors in aid of Spinal Injuries Scotland, raised a record £71,000 for the charity, Digby Brown announced today.
Held a week ago in Glasgow’s Thistle Hotel, this was the 11th annual event and the total raised is now over £450,000. Spinal Injuries Scotland works with new and long-term spinal cord injured people, their relatives and friends.
Hosted by Scottish comedian and Capital Radio star Des Clarke, the black-tie event also featured a "flashmob" dance to kick the evening off, and a series of powerful testimonials from individuals who have been supported by Spinal Injuries Scotland.
Robert Swanney, partner in Digby Brown’s Serious Injury Department commented: “The difference that Spinal Injuries Scotland makes to people who have suffered a spinal cord injury is immense. Their advice and support can, quite literally, be life-changing.
“Digby Brown are proud and privileged to have worked with Spinal Injuries Scotland for a number of years. This annual event is the centrepiece of our fundraising work together and goes from strength to strength every year.
“Everyone who came to the event and gave so generously can be assured that they
are making a very real difference to people across Scotland with a spinal cord injury,
their family, friends and carers.”
