SYLA announces two new practice events
Two further events in its "Beyond the Basics" series on areas of legal practice have been announced by the Scottish Young Lawyers' Association.
Fatal accident inquiries will be discussed in Edinburgh on Wednesday 20 September, while employment law is the focus for a Glasgow event the following evening.
The conduct of fatal accident inquiries in Scotland was reformed following a raft of changes which came into force on 15 June 2017. Dominic Scullion, solicitor advocate at Anderson Strathern, will deliver an update on 20 September on the changes and how they will affect the way FAIs are conducted in the Scottish courts.
His firm will host and sponsor the event at its office at 1 Rutland Court, Edinburgh EH3 8EY. Registration is from 5.30pm with the presentation starting promptly at 6pm until 7pm. The free event may count as one hour of CPD. Click here to register.
Sponsored and hosted by Elis Whittam, the employment law event on 21 September will be held in The Beacon, 176 St Vincent Street, Glasgow G2 5SG. Registration is from 6pm with the meeting itself from 6.30-8pm, followed by networking and nibbles.
