Kate Dowdalls QC appointed to Scottish Law Commission
Family law specialist Kate Dowdalls QC has been appointed a commissioner of the Scottish Law Commission.
Ms Dowdalls has been a member of the Faculty of Advocates since 2000, following 15 years in private practice as a solicitor. She took silk in 2013. Throughout her career she has specialised in family law, and has extensive experience in all aspects of child and family law. She has appeared in cases at the forefront of development of family law, notably in the areas of cohabitation and adoption, and is a regular contributor at conference and seminars on matter of interest and concern to family lawyers.
Her appointment, which is full time, will be for five years and runs from 9 July 2018 to 8 July 2023.
