Brodies launches new brand drawing on Enlightenment roots

Brodies LLP, Scotland’s largest law firm, has unveiled its new brand, Enlightened Thinking.

The firm said it represented a culmination of its "story, people, values, ideas and origins that date back to 1739 in Edinburgh", when leading minds helped shape the modern world during the Scots Enlightenment.

Its new logo, representing a set of different coloured lenses placed on top of one another but at different angles, conveys that "in today’s complex, fast changing and interconnected world we must see things from many perspectives, through many lenses. By combining those lenses we create something crisp, clear and new".

The new brand follows the announcement of record results for the firm, with turnover up 12% to 76.86m and profits before partner distributions up 14% to 37.40m (click here for report), while partner numbers rose above 100 and headcount exceeded 700 for the first time.

Managing partner Nick Scott commented: "The process of developing our brand has been insightful and inspiring. Our clients and our colleagues played an important role in renewing our brand story by sharing their thoughts about our firm. I thank everyone for their contributions and I look forward to seeing this next chapter of our story unfold."
