Two hires boost Brodies' employment and immigration offering
Brodies, the biggest Scottish-headquartered legal firm, has added to its employment and immigration strength with the lateral hire of Elaine McIlroy as a partner.
Ms McIlroy, who has 17 years’ experience, joins from national firm Weightmans, where she led the UK Immigration team and Scottish employment practice. Her colleague, solicitor Erin McLafferty, has made the move with her.
Brodies is pursuing its strategy of seeking dedicated immigration expertise due to the ongoing demand from employers to advise EU nationals on the settled worker scheme, and on wider Brexit implications. The firm now has 25 employment and immigration specialists across its Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.
Head of Employment at Brodies, Tony Hadden, commented: “Elaine is a well-known employment and immigration lawyer with a great reputation in the UK market. Our clients will benefit from her knowledge and experience both in employment law and in the area of immigration, which as the Brexit process continues, is a key issue for employers.”
