Thorntons promotes new solicitor advocate to partner
A dispute resolution lawyer who has also just been admitted as a solicitor advocate has been promoted to partner in the Dundee headquarters of legal firm Thorntons.
Lauren Rae, who began her career with Thorntons as a trainee, works in the Commercial Dispute Resolution & Claims team, acting for individual clients and businesses on a broad range of commercial litigation work.
Coinciding with her promotion to partner, she was also sworn in this week as a solicitor advocate, giving her rights of audience in the higher civil courts.
Her promotion takes the number of partners at Thorntons to 57, with three solicitor advocates.
Colin Graham, chairman at Thorntons, commented: “Supporting employee development and encouraging internal career progression is important to us at Thorntons. Lauren is a prime example of this and we are delighted to promote her to partner in the firm. Being promoted and becoming a solicitor advocate is something Lauren should be very proud of.”
