8 October 2019

Global legal firm DWF has recruited insurance litigator Lynne Macfarlane as a director in its Scottish insurance practice.

Ms Macfarlane, a solicitor advocate, joins from Clyde & Co, with which or its legacy firm Simpson & Marwick she has spent the entire 20 years of her legal career to date. She has extensive experience in defending leading insurers against employers’ liability, public liability, catastrophic injury, road traffic accidents, product liability and regulatory claims.

Andrew Lothian, DWF's head of general insurance in Scotland, said: "We are delighted to welcome Lynne to the insurance practice in Scotland. She is a senior and experienced insurance litigator who will add substantial breadth to our insurance legal services provision, for the benefit of insurer clients both in Scotland and further afield."

It has been ranked as a Top 10 Employer for Working Families compiled by work-life balance charity Working Families, which assesses companies on core areas to build a comprehensive picture of their flexible and family-friendly policies and practices that specifically support mothers, fathers and carers.

The firm has also been placed 16th in the list of the top 75 employers in the Social Mobility Employer Index created by the Social Mobility Foundation to rank Britain’s employers on the actions they are taking to ensure they are open to accessing and progressing talent from all backgrounds.
