Govan Law Centre has opened a national Education Law Unit to assist those who advise children with special educational needs and their parents


Govan Law Centre, funded by the Scottish Executive, now operate a national Education Law Unit, to assist those who advise children with special educational needs (and their parents) in what is a complex and changing area of law.

The Education Law Helpline offers free advice and information on all aspects of education law to solicitors and other advisers. The Helpline operates during office hours, Monday to Friday. The Helpline is staffed by a qualified solicitor with extensive experience and expertise in education law and covers a wide range of issues including:

  • Placing Requests
  • Exclusion from School
  • Disability Discrimination at School
  • Transport Entitlement Issues
  • Bullying and the Law
  • Record of Needs
  • Safety and Supervision of Pupils
